November/December 2006:

We pray you have had a nice holiday and are all geared up for the New Year!

2007 holds many promising things for us all. In our home church, ‘enthusiasm’ and ‘expectation’ were the two words the pastor gave for the upcoming year. That is exciting! Our prayer for you is that Christ would overtake you in every area of your life! We appreciate all your interest and prayers for our lives.

TRANSITIONING HOME:

It has been quite a change and transition home here to Nova Scotia. We arrived home October 3rd and had a nice month catching up with family and friends. In November we started traveling to churches on weekends and really experienced God’s blessing as we shared about Trinidad and Tobago and our ministry there. It was a busy time as we were away Friday to Sunday or Monday and then returned home to catch up on administration and get back to school.

We have been doing Ok, but have had ups and downs as we adjust to being home. We miss our friends in Tobago and our time there has impacted us greatly. We have been reading a book called ‘Reentry’ for returning missionaries and that has been helpful. Being in transition is an exciting time, yet stressful too. We have full assurance that God is with us and is guiding us each step. It is a daily walk of placing our trust in Him and resting in God’s presence. It is definitely a huge adjustment for us and will yet again be as more changes are in store!

It is funny to have quite a few adjustments to moving home, you may laugh at these like: getting used to driving on the right hand side of the road, learning how to sort our garbage as they have extensive recycling and composting here and it all has to be bagged appropriately, taking such a long time to bundle the kids up in snowsuits and mittens (longer than sun screening them in Tobago!), self service gas stations, going for a long cold walk on the beach rather than a nice ‘sea bath’, no goats or chickens roaming our yard, no fresh fruit on the trees to pick (at least not this time of year), long straight highways, lots of fast food drive thrus, early dark evenings by 5pm because it is winter here ……… trying to reconnect with friends who have very busy schedules and a faster pace of life. It has been fun, a time of rediscovery and also overwhelming at times.

ENJOYING SNOW:

The kids prayer daily has been to have some snow! They enjoyed the first snow immensely! They were sad for a green Christmas but are geared up for the first snow storm!

LIVING CHRISTMAS TREE BELL CHOIR:

The kids enjoyed being a part of the Living Christmas Tree Presentations at Christian Fellowship Church. They played with the Bell Choir each night for 4 nights. It was a great time for us all!

We appreciate your prayers for us as a family.

Please continue to pray for us specifically,

  • for refreshing and rest as we process all the changes in our lives
  • the details of this move- housing, schools, employment, moving costs etc…
  • help as we prepare for another large move, emotionally, spiritually and financially
  • Danica and Craig as they prepare to leave their friends and make new ones again!
  • God Bless You!
    Michelle, Tim, Danica and Craig
