November/December 2006:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all! We have enjoyed a wonderful Christmas home here in Canada with our families. However, we are now missing our ‘Tobago family!’. Many of our friends have called us from Tobago over the holidays and it has been so nice to hear their news and voices! We pray you have had a wonderful holiday. The Lord is so good and He has provided for us in so many miraculous ways! We are blessed to have a place to live during this transition and to hear from God regarding our future ministry. We continue to need your prayers for our lives! Read on to hear all our news!

SHARING AT CHURCHES:

Our 3 month furlough started off with a rest and relaxation time with family and then went into high gear as we began traveling in November/December to our church partners and sharing about our experiences in Trinidad and Tobago and our heart for youth ministry in Canada. It has been tiring to be traveling on weekends and keeping administration, home life and school going during the week yet, the ministry times have been very enriching. As we have traveled to the various churches, it has truly been an encouragement to us as we have seen the hearts of people who have prayed and supported us through our ministry time there.

We thank God for the prayer and support pastors and people have given us as it is greatly needed! You are all a blessing to us! We thank you so much for your support of us in Tobago and we pray you would continue to pray and partner with us in the next journey of ministry we embark on!

You can see lots of photos of us and the churches we have visited over the past months. We so enjoyed the fellowship with you all as we visited - you are dear friends in ministry! Your warm hospitality is greatly appreciated! Michelle and the kids often wore their Indian clothing and Tim kept people laughing with his sense of humor. The children also enjoyed participating in the services with their stories.

Click on this link if you would rather view it full screen, and go grab yourself a cup of coffee!

  • FUTURE MINISTRY PLANS:

Yes, the long awaited answer to the …’What are you doing next?’ question. Finally, I (Tim) felt some clarity on this decision near the end of November.

As you know, I have been praying as to what I feel God is leading us into for future ministry. For over ten years now, the Lord has placed a calling and vision on my heart for the youth and youth leaders of Canada. I believe that in order to have a strong church and country, we need to have purposeful ministry to teens. We need to reach this generation of youth for Christ!

I have chosen to be obedient to this calling and have accepted the opportunity to work as Director of the national youth ministry resource arm of Apostolic Youth Ministries International (AYMI). AYMI is a Canadian faith based ministry, led by Director, Larry Moore, that is committed to evangelism and assisting the Canadian church in their ministry to youth. AYMI is also the overseeing body of Lifeforce Teams International, who we went to Tobago with. My role would be to lead, develop and facilitate youth leaders training seminars across Canada, retreats, a mentoring program for youth leaders, a resource website, research/development component for teen related issues and help develop youth ministry networks.

It is very similar to the ministry I did in Tobago and is a very exciting opportunity! This move will take us to live in Calgary, which is where the AYMI offices are located. I would be working as a team with Larry and the AYMI staff to accomplish these goals. We will also be partnering with other organizations to help see this vision become a reality. We are planning to facilitate this move in mid February 2007.

Similar to our mission in Tobago, I am responsible to raise my own financial support. AYMI is a faith/support based ministry. We believe in that this is where God is calling us to go and minister and we know by faith He will continue to use people to provide for His vision!

We invite you to partner with us in this new role as we work towards reaching the teens of our country. Financial gifts will now be processed by Apostolic Youth Ministries International (AYMI). You can download a support form and mail it to the address below or contact them directly:

Please pray for us as we make this move and transition to the city of Calgary. Besides the changes in ministry focus, as a family we will be making decisions in regards to Michelle returning to work part time and the children transitioning from homeschooling to school. We need to know God’s timing for all of this. It will be huge changes for us all.

    MISSIONSERVE:

Missions is still on the forefront of our hearts. I (Tim) am in the process of developing a missions organization that would be grass roots. I would like to continue to lead, organize and host short term missions teams from Canada to T&T and other parts of the world. My other objectives would be to: provide resources to pastors in third world countries, provide office equipment, fund youth pastor positions, provide funding to church run orphanages….. etc as the Lord would lead. I am in the process of getting this together and will let you know more as it unfolds! It is exciting to serve God in missions to bring hope and encouragement to those in great need!
